Organic Crocus sativus bulbs size 8/9
Organic certified saffron bulbs of size 8/9 each have a circumference between 8 and 9 centimeters, with a diameter between 2.55 and 2.86 centimeters.
These size 8/9 bulbs are still quite small in size, so they will not flower profusely in the first autumn after planting. However, under normal growing conditions after a growth cycle of 1 year, these bulbs will give a rich bloom with a good organic saffron yield.
Organic certified bulbs
The organic bulbs that we sell in our shop are certified organic by Skal Biocontrole, an independent organization that supervises the entire organic chain in the Netherlands on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
You can view and download our organic certificate here: Organic certificate
Organic Crocus sativus bulbs are grown completely organically in the Netherlands on bio-certified sandy soils with a high humus content and a rich soil life, without the use of chemical crop protection agents or fertilizers. This ensures that you receive strong bulbs with a high content of natural nutrients.
High quality bio bulbs
These organic Crocus sativus bulbs are qualified with class 1 by the Dutch flower bulb inspection service the BKD.
The BKD is commissioned by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) to inspect the quality of all regular and organically grown flower bulb crops in the Netherlands for both quality defects and quarantine pathogens.
