Clear return rules for Crocus sativus (saffron) bulbs, including EU withdrawal rights, return conditions, and refunds.
Overview
This Refund & Return Policy applies to all purchases made via www.sativus.com and concerns the sale of Crocus sativus (saffron) bulbs.
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), receive the goods.
Email us at info@sativus.com and include your order number and full name.
2. Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you, including the standard delivery costs (excluding any additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed about your decision to withdraw.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
Reimbursement will be carried out using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
3. Return Conditions for Crocus sativus Bulbs
Due to the agricultural and seasonal nature of saffron bulbs, the following conditions apply:
- The return request must be made within 14 days of delivery.
- The Crocus sativus bulbs must be unused and unplanted.
- The bulbs must be in their original condition.
- The bulbs must not show signs of planting, rooting, moisture damage, or improper storage.
- Original packaging should be preserved where reasonably possible.
Returned goods will be inspected upon arrival before approval of the refund.
4. Return Shipping
The direct costs of returning the goods shall be borne by the customer.
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping method. Sativus.com cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during return transport.
5. Export Orders (Outside the EU)
For international orders outside the European Union, the following are non-refundable once issued or arranged:
- Phytosanitary certificates
- Export inspections
- Customs documentation
- Air freight or special transport arrangements
Custom clearance costs and duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Delivery
If you receive damaged or incorrect saffron bulbs, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
Please include:
- Clear photographs of the outer packaging
- Photographs of the Crocus sativus bulbs
- Your order number
We will review your claim and provide an appropriate solution.
7. Non-Returnable Situations
Returns will not be accepted if:
- The bulbs have been planted.
- The bulbs were stored incorrectly after delivery.
- The return request is made after the 14-day withdrawal period.
- The goods were specially packed, customized, or reserved for the customer.
- The bulbs were purchased as part of a wholesale or B2B agreement where statutory consumer withdrawal rights do not apply.
