Single late tulip "Queen of Night"
Tulips from this group used to be known as Cottage tulips, a collective name for all valuable older tulip cultivars. These tulips have a very strong growth, can grow up to around 70 cm high. The flowering time of this type of tulip is in the first half of May and they have a flowering period which is usually longer than other tulip groups.
Single late tulips are available in a wide range of colors, including the highly appreciated almost completely black tulip and a number of unusual bicolored varieties. Depending on the variety, this group produces large or smaller elegant, slender, upright flowers.
These tulips are easy to grow and are a welcome addition to plant beds, borders, pots and containers. For the best visual effect, plant these tulips in groups (at least 10 to 15 bulbs) or mix them with other tulips or flower bulb species. They are also ideal as cut flowers.
